ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
The City Manager assumed the Chair and advised the meeting that under Section 182 of the Local Government Act the Mayor had indicated he would be an ex-officio member of all Committees but had declined to serve as Chairman of the Committees.
The City Manager then called for nominations for the office of Chairman of the Community Services Committee.
Councillor J. Copley JP was nominated by Councillor B. Burkett.
Councillor P.L. Rose was nominated by Councillor R.J. Daniel.
There being two nominations for the position, ballot papers were distributed and a ballot conducted. As a result of the ballot the City Manager declared Councillor P.L. Rose elected as Chairman.

That the minutes of the meeting of 14 April 1993 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman as a true and correct record of proceedings.

The Chairman advised there were requests from the public to speak on Items W3 and R15.

That Items W3 and R15 be brought forward in the agenda.
