That the minutes of the meeting of 23 January 1996 be confirmed, and signed by the Chairman as a true and correct record of proceedings.
The motion was put and declared CARRIED.
ITEMS IN COMMITTEE
Nil.
Councillor Clarey advised he had attended the opening of the Baseball facilities at Carine Regional Open Space on Sunday 11 February 1996. Councillor Clarey presented to the Chairman, Certificates of Appreciation and a plaque given to the City in appreciation of the assistance provided in constructing the facilities. The Certificates were awarded to the Works Division, Parks Department, Recreation Department and Mr P Usatov.

THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL
1. That Service Clubs in the City of Stirling be approached with the suggestion that they might contribute to funds held in trust to assist aged persons to purchase personal alarms appropriate to their circumstances.
2. That clients who are potential recipients of such assistance be assessed by the Welfare Department staff.
The motion was put and declared CARRIED.
Councillor Copley dissented.
